Wander Michelin Wic Unstudded

Wander Michelin Wic has a classic appearance combined with the best possible unstudded sole. This is an attractive winter shoe that also works in the autumn and spring.(This shoe is a bit smaller than average so please choose a bigger size if you're unsure.)

Our version of a classic Chelsea boot that has every chance of becoming a favourite as big as Icebug’s Metro.
Water-repellent nubuck that ages nicely combined with fleece lining on the inside. Easy to put on and take off with the tab at the front and back. A wide fitting and stable midsole make the shoe nice to walk in. In addition, this shoe has the best unstudded grip on the market developed in cooperation with the tyre giant Michelin. Works just like an unstudded winter tire and is perfect if you live in a place where the ground is not always icy.

Why we made the shoe: We wanted to create our interpretation of a classic Chelsea boot, for which good grip is of course part of the whole.

Compound Winter rubber traction For shifting autumn and winter conditions, ranging from wet city pavements to frosty gravel roads, providing proper unstudded traction can be a challenge. Especially since rubber tends to harden and get stiff as temperature drops. In a collaboration with MICHELIN Technical Soles, Icebug now offers a winter adapted rubber outsole. Developed with the ICE Control Technology, solution formulated to provide superior ground control in snow or ice. This technology allows you to relax and enjoy being outside, no matter how slippery it is. There is no better unstudded winter traction. The tread pattern of the outsole is based on the legendary MICHELIN X-Ice Xi3 winter tire, with Cross Z Sipes that provide traction on ice and wide grooves for excellent water evacuation and flexibility. The MICHELIN Winter Compound (Wic) is an anti-slip compound that offers both reliable traction and good abrasion resistance in temperatures down to -30°C.
Water resistant
Water resistant materials are either treated or dense enough to repel water. They are not 100% waterproof, but they do give you protection from foul weather, splashing and slush. The gain is a high level of breathability and the ability to shape better with the foot. To maintain the water resistance of a treatment a material needs to be taken care of properly.
