The V-Trail 2.0 offers the latest and greatest features to conquer trails with ease, including both lamination around the toes to prevent seam splitting and improved upper material which is more water repellent than the previous version. The V-Trail 2.0 features 3D Cocoon mesh woven into the outsole for protection from sharper objects during outdoor training like rocks, roots and acorns. The mesh is tridimensional, it disperses the point of impact across the full bottom of the shoe. Continues to offer excellent proprioception and dexterity. The Megagrip outsole compound offers supreme grip across both wet and dry conditions.
I have previously owned 4 Vibrams of which one was a v trail. The grip on the sole works amazingly on all types of rock, including wet surfaces when hiking through waterfalls etc. The downside is they have changed the style to my previous pair so the same size fit is not as good. My slightly smaller right foot doesn’t fit where the toes meet the pads of the feet, possibly too long? So they are quite painful to wear and can only be worn with layers of moleskin or bandages. But when they are in place you have an amazing shoe. I wore for 6 hours hiking Madeira Levada trails, but unfortunately could not wear again the next day. They are my all time favourite shoe for hiking Macchu Picchu, Madeira and Rockies, but with shipping costs I just can’t afford to send back and forth until I get the right shoe, even after using a Vibram sizing chart. Love the shoe, just sad they hurt to wear.
